FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does CheckIN360 work with all cell phones?

Answer:

Yes, although the app is only available to be downloaded on the iPad, any phone (iPhone, Android, non-smartphones) can receive notifications as long as the phone can receive standard text messages. You do not need to download an app on your phone to receive the text messages.

I'm not technologically savvy, is CheckIN360 difficult to set up?

Answer:

No. You can expect to spend about an hour on setup (from start to finish) however, the process is not difficult. That said, we are happy to help with set up over the phone or in person (in some instances). Just shoot us an email to let us know your questions/concerns and we will come up with a plan.

Where should I put the check-in iPad running CheckIN360?

Answer:

This is up to you. Obviously, you want the app accessible to the waiting area at a reasonable height but not obstructing traffic flow. We actually utilize an internal wall mount in our waiting room. This creates an elegant, non-obstructive solution. Alternatively, some folks choose to place the ipad with the front desk staff as opposed to allowing clients to check in on there own.

Speaking of iPad stands and mounts, where do I get the best one?

Answer:

There are a number of different solutions for different situations. Here are just a few options:

What about security. Do I have to worry about the iPad being stolen?

Answer:

It is wise to take reasonable precautions in this area. This is usually resolved by placing the iPad in a visible area and/or using a locking stand/mount (see above).

Doesn't the iPad run out of power eventually?

Answer:

Great question. Given that the iPad needs power, it is wise to place it near a power source. If that is not possible, there are other good solutions including buying a longer charging cable or buying a PoE kit that allows the user to charge over an Ethernet cable.

We want to use the CheckIN360 app but I don't want to mess with the setup.  Is there another option?

Answer:

Yes, for a reasonable fee, we will consult with you regarding your needs and then purchase everything you need for setup (iPad, mount, charging cables, etc). We can also arrange for onsite installation if necessary.  Just send us an email to begin.

I am interested in the app but not sure it will work for me.  Is there someone I can talk to about my specific setting?

Answer:

YES!  We are happy to setup a time to speak with you directly to address any questions you have about CheckIN360 and how it can work for you.  Just hit us up through the contact page and we will get back to you asap!

How do I keep people from opening other apps on the iPad or getting on the internet?

Answer:

This is an important issue as the app is only useful if it is active and available for your clients. Thankfully, Apple was aware of this and included a tool called “Guided Access” on all iPads which allows administrators to “lock” the iPad on specific apps while making other features inaccessible to the user. The tool is easy to activate and instructions can be found on Google by searching “How to use Guided Access”.

Is CheckIN360 HIPAA compliant?

Answer:

Yes! the app is HIPAA compliant. There is no identifying information shared between the app and the user. HOWEVER, the user can violate the HIPAA compliant status of the app by asking for identifying information via the custom questions feature. So, it is the responsibility of users in a healthcare setting to maintain HIPAA compliance while using CheckIN360.
